In 2008, Churches Together in Keynsham and Saltford are organising a wide ranging and exciting programme for the whole community -
'More to Life 08'.

Recognising that God plays in every scene of life, 'More to Life 08' is seeking to discover spiritual signposts amidst the passions of life which engage people's hearts today.

Each month of the year will be devoted to a specific theme as detailed in the menu above.

March - Sport

More to life March Events:

It has been observed that 'where there is sport, there is scandal'. This month offers the opportunity to rediscover the lost joy of sport.
Motivational talks, coaching and the opportunity to meet leading sports people and question them about their experiences. These opportunities will be offered to all ages in schools and local clubs. Whether you are an active participant or armchair enthusiast, don't miss out!

Reports....

The More to Life month of Sport has been an extraordinary time for us (Wellsway School). These activities have really helped us cement the foundations in our first year as a specialist Sports and Science College. The visits by Jonathan Webb, John Barclay, Graham Taylor and the Christians in Sport academy were inspirational for the students. Thanks once again to the More to Life programme and all of our friends from our local churches. A big ‘thank you’ to Rachel, Tom and Charlie from Christians in Sport for their work at Castle over Tuesday and [the whole of] Wedensday. A member of staff who sat in on the Assembly called Rachel "charismatic", and a "superb, clear communicator".

Just to say 'what an amazing breakfast'! I've just got back from Steph Cook's talk and it was wonderful. She was totally inspirational and such a lovely lady. How can one person be so talented and successful and be so lovely with it. There were loads of people there and it was a lovely atmosphere.

Graham Taylor’s talk on ‘attitude’ is one I shall remember for a long time and will carry the message with me into every part of my life (Broadlands Yr 11 student)

‘Having Steve Tanner referee the match between Wellsway and Broadlands and then watching him referee a Premiership match two days later was ……… ‘Wow!’’ (Incidentally, Steve was very impressed with the skill and attitude displayed by the Yr 11 teams and he thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon).

Golf Day at Saltford Golf Club: ‘The meal was the best I have ever had at such an event and the talk by Pete Nicholas (Oxford rugby blue) was riveting. All that followed a warm sunny day with the course in perfect condition. Excellent value.’

March has been an encouraging month. Events were generally well attended – cricket, rugby, football, athletics and golf engaged with the wider community. In the midst of everything, Holy Week and Easter were marked in a memorable way in all the churches.

Do continue to pray that More to Life will continue to impact the wider community for Christ.
